Constant work in progress

I have built a new desk today. It is bigger and cleaner than the previous desk, and I love it. I can’t wait to create something at this new desk.

But it is not finished and it will never be. It will be in a constant work in progress state.

As I spend more time at it, I will find things that don’t quite work. I will spot mistakes I did. And I will have ideas on how to improve it.

I don’t want to see things I create as finished. There is always something to improve. I always learn new things. I sometimes jokingly say that building something taught me all the ways how not to build that thing. Next time I apply that knowledge and learn new things, and so on and on.

There is no end because there is no end in how good a person can be. There is always something to improve and something new to discover.
